I have totally lost track of when was the last time I wrote something in here...

The little time, combined with the total lack of inspiration made me have an unscheduled timeout on this blog.

The crafts projects kept on going one after another, though...

I still don't really know when I will apropriately return to this blog, I know I want to, and I want to do it properly.
The same goes for the podcast.
I miss recording, showing off my projects, my doubts, my breakthroughouts and my failings.
But in order to do that, I must want it and feel good about it.
So, bear with me a litlle longer, and don't give up on this little blogging corner just yet!

No fim, resultou numa poupança bastante significativa!

*****

I like to set goals at the beginning of every year.
I do it because I like to compare what I planned with what I really accomplished.
It allows me to have focus and set a direction to guide me.
The comparison sometimes allows me to see why I got sidetracked from my goals (sometimes our goals change or stop making sense in our life...)

In 2017, I made a list of knitting resolutions (at the time, because of a KAL) and I truly think that it was beneficial!
Not because I have done everything I challenged myself to make, probably it was quite the opposite. But it gave me focus and especially allowed me to plan better my materials' purchases (needles, yarn, fabrics, and paid patterns) and also made me use more of my stashed materials. In the end, it resulted in a huge saving! <strike>I wont mention numbers, so you wont be shocked...</strike>

Ravelry allowed me to realise how much I have accomplished in 2017 and see how far I completed my resolutions list.

So, in 2017 I finished 13 knitting projects! Quite a deed, the way I see it, considering that among them there are 2 sweaters and a top.

From my Resolutions List, I cast-on 7 of the 12 planned projects, but I only managed to finish 5.

But in the meantime I entered 2 test-knits, which was something I had in my far far away plans, but that came true in 2017.
I knitted a total of 4934m throughout 2017 (including some that I had cast-on late in 2016).

Sewingwise, I made two tops for myself, in jersey fabric (another huge accomplishment of mine) one skirt and a dress. And I still managed to get two new skirts by upcyling 2 old dresses I had.

All things considered, like in others aspects of my life, I can surely say that 2017 was a really good year!
And now for 2018, with new plans and projects on my resolutions list and goals!

At the peak of summer, my youngest son's daycare teacher told me that she was expecting her first child, and for that reason would be absent from the daycare by the end of the year. So, my son would be guided by another teacher.

Although I got this news with some apprehension, because of the change it would represent in my son's daily life, I was very happy for her!

C. has been with Ricardo ever since he could barely walk and has been someone really important in his life, in his growing and evolution. She has a sweat personality, a huge heart and a calm and serene nature, very important in minimizing my little boy's <strike>hurricane </strike>strong personality.

Well, since I love to knit for babies, I put pleasure and usefulness toghether. I knitted a little baby cardigan as a gift for C.'s baby, because he is going to be born in January and warm cardigans will come in handy.

This tiny gifts is only a drop in the ocean of gratitude I have for her, for her work and for all the positive contributions and beneficial influence she has had towards my son.

We have a saying in portuguese that translates into something like "those who kiss my child, steel my heart"... so this little garment is only a tiny gesture of my gratitude for her.

The pattern is Puerperium Cardigan by Kelly Niekerk, a free pattern on Ravelry, that I knit with Drops Lima Unicolor yarn (65% wool and 35% alpaca), in the grey blueshish colorway. I used 3.5 mm needles and made the newborn size.

Then I bought buttons in multiple colors, to make it a little bit more fun, because after all if life is colorful so should our clothes be too!

The funniest thing was that I had planned to surprise C., but when I was sewing in the buttons, Ricardo asked me what was that and for who I was making it for (interesting thing, that he thought that it was meant for someone other than him or his brother). When I told him that it was for C.'s baby but that he must keep it a secret, he nod his head all sure of himself, that he wasn't going to say anything... yeah right... I should already know by now that both my kids are blabbermouths... the first thing he told C. the following monday, as soon as he saw her was:

Before anything else, my sincerest appologies for the "neglect" to my blog... two and a half months is too long. But the fact is that I have been lacking either time or inspiration...

The Summer is long gone... but the Summer weather apparently not! It seems odd that we are already in October and the temperatures are still similar to the ones registered in September or August. And they say that this weather is here to stay...

Even I that am a fan of sun and nice warm temperature, am feeling quite confused. It is not costumary in October, my birth month, that I still wear short sleeves and sandals.
So I can use my new pair of socks!
So, Winter, you can come now, because I am waiting for you!

My childhood best friend had her birthday a vfew months ago and I had long made her a birthday present, that I knew she would like a lot.

With the passing of the years we both have been growing old and we have in commom the will for a more environment friendly life and for that sometimes all we need is small gestures and slight changes in our behaviour to make a difference, no matter how small it is.

In one of our long talks aboutr this commom purpose, I clearly realized that my "Litlle Fatty" needed to try out some eco-friendly make up remover discs, that are used and resused as much as we like.

It was something I had already seen a few years ago, in some "DIY projects" page and that I still hadn't put to pratice. Maria had already made them as well.

So I thought it would be a nice birthday gift for her, since she uses make up more than I do, that only use in special occasions.

Only a few weeks ago we finally were together and I was able to deliver her present.

Ñot only did she like the concept, but she also aprecciated it even more because "it was made by you, with your hands!" Which means it is worth a lot more than any present I could have bought her in any store...

It is so good to have friends, but specially those who know how to value and aprecciate what we make for them with all our care and love to gift them!

Not only this project is very simple, but it also is a great stashbuster, to use those yarn scraps that we end up with after other projects are completed. So, we are also using our "resources" to the maximum, without waste.

I used some leftover yarns from this blanket, mostly Rosários4 in cotton (Regata, For Nature) and a 4mm crochet hook.

One of my goals for this year, one of the resolutions I made at the beggining of this year, was that I was going to renew my wardrobe and preferably without spending any money in comercial chainstores. You can read more here about the renewal proccess of my wardrobe.

I made a decision to have more handmade clothes in my closet.
I had also told you about my resolutions list concerning my crafts projects, to make this year.

So, today I am here to show you a piece of clothing that is new in my closet, made by me, from my 2017 resolutions list (number 7).

It was a very interesting project to knit.
First I used a yarn 100% made in Portugal, Rosários 4 Princípe Real, a cotton, linnen and silk blend, to be fresh for summer.

However, I cannot say it is all that fresh. Only if there is a slight breeze blowing, because other than that it is a little bit too warm. I think it is best for wearing in those mid season days.

The thread, although it is gentle and soft to the touch, wasn't all that pleasant to knit, especially until I separated for the sleeves and finished the neckline. Only after I started knitting in the round it became a more pleasurable experience. And also, it quite shows the different tension in the stitches knit right and wrong sides, from those knitted on the round in the right side, because they are more even.

It has a funny constrution, since it is knitted top-down, raglan shaped. After the neckline is knitted (you knit both sides) you join in the round to knit seamlessly.

At a certain point, I made a mistake in the number of cast-on stitches in the underarm... I misread the pattern, and cast on the number of stitches for the smaller size (34 I believe...) instead of the number of stitches for my size (42). However, it turned out just perfefctly, because I didn't have to make any increases, because it fit just perfect in my bust. I believe that if I had cast-on the correct number of stitches for my size it would've been too big in my bust area. All I had to do was knit an extra 5cm of fabric for the height and it turned out just the way I wanted it.

Overall, I can say that I am very pleased with the garment, I love the color, and I completed one of my goals: to have a new garment in my wardrobe, made with my hands.

*****

When I idealized the rearranging of my hall, one of the things I decided was that I would use the two single modules as a stool, where we could sit down and put on or off our shoes.

It took me a while to make the missing piece: a pillow!

I had the fabric in stash, a piece of fabric that I had left after making a babysling for a dear friend, using the same pattern as this one.

Like in almost everything I make sewing-wise, as soon as I put my mind to it I don't rest until I get to it, so I took 1 hour I had available while my two little devils where busy playing around, to cut the fabric.

The sewing part happened the next day at, late at night, while they were both sound asleep.

The choice of fabric couldn't have worked better!
I think it gives a little bit of elegance to the space, which was kind of poor and uninteristing... and also has a light look, from the floral print.

Then all I had to do was to fill it with cotton pillow filling (I think I bought it at a Leroy Merlin store...) and close the opening by hand with an invisible stitch.

Now that I think of it, I believe that this hand sewn stitch was one of the first things I learned with my mother when I was just a little girl. It's amazing what lies in our memory and we didn't even know it.Nanáhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13169936514217632521noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8850925088253840661.post-42127912066934060212017-07-03T15:57:00.003+01:002017-07-03T15:57:56.603+01:00Decoração aliada a organização / Decoration allied to organizingO meu hall de entrada precisava de um ar novo.

My house's hall needed a new look.

I thought it was a little bit poor, decorationwise.
Besides, the console that I had there was usually used as a "dumping" space for everything and more... ranging from the kids hats, to magazines and various papers, to even one or two cardigans... all bundled up.

The organized chaos that had been settling had became a bad habit that needed to be solved!

Some pictures I saw on Pinterest got my attention,. because they combined decorating and organizing, which responded to all my needs for that space.

So, I made up a plan (and I actually made a drawing of it...) and "put hands" to work - my husband's, not mine...

I bought a shelving module, the shelf and the storage boxes at IKEA store and some metalic golden hooks at Tiger store, to complete my vision for that space.

I am not 100% happy with the final result because I couldn't find available the right wood colors to go with the wall colors and the color of some structural elements wooden made, in cherrytree wood.

But even so, I am happy that I decided to change things, because the space became much more functional and pleasant. And there is room to stow thing!

Here is the before and after!

A few months before finishing the last shawl I showed you, I made this one, that I am showing you now.

His name is Pomelo and is made in crochet and I chose to use yarn that I had in stash.

I decided to crochet it because I find it beautiful and it was already in my wishlist/queue and also because the opportunity to make it together with other people came along, in a CAL organized by Bola de Tons.

I took the occasion and used stashed yarn, which means that this was a great stash busting project and I didn't have to spend money on new yarn.

That is the reason why it has 3 different colors, but I think that the combination worked out really well.

I used BMG Affinitas by Miltons yarn, and 4mm hook.

I chose not to make the braids at the edge, as showed in the pattern from the designer, but that is just because I am not a fan of braids or fringes...

It is a reasonable size piece and the general idea is to use it around the house, to cover and warm my back in winter nights, while I sit on the couch and watch tv.

If you wish to make it, it is a free pattern that you can easily download from the internet.

I guess it is no secret anymore to those who come by that my favourite designer is Joji Locatelli.

The Golden Sand Shawl, that she published along with other designers for a charitable campaign (support to the blind people in Congo)
was one of those pieces that caught my eye instantly. I was in love with the beauty of the shawl as soon as I saw it, and of course I had to knit one for myself!

It didn't take me long to choose the yarn, one of the skeins I used I had already in stash, bought a few months earlier at the first Yarn Crawl (in Lisbon, 2015) at Retrosaria: Malabrigo Sock in the 474 Caribeño colorway. All I had to buy was one more skein of Malabrigo Sock, this time at Tricot das Cinco, in the 806 Impressionist Sky colorway,
so I could have enough yardage. Funny thing is that both skeins really complemented well and you can hardly find the transition from one color to the other.

As a matter of fact I would've liked to have knitted it in a similar colorway to the original pattern but at the time I couldn't find a yarn that convinced me that it would be a good match. But that doesn't mean that I won't knit it again...

It is one of the easiest knits of all of the shawls I've knit so far, and funny thing is that it is the most worn of all of them. It has a beautiful drape, it is super soft and it goes well with a great number of garments and outfits that I have in my wardrobe. And it is very warm without being to hot.

However, it was not all roses with this shawl... I had a tremendous pleasure knitting with Malabrigo Sock yarn and I will certainly use it in the future, but probably not for shawls... also my Hyia Hyia Sharp 4mm needles made the proccess of knitting even more pleasant.

The fact is that the bind-off I usde for this shawl was totally wrong. At first I used an icelandic bind-off, that was supposed to be very elastic. But I guess I must have been too tense and it ended up withy no elasticity, and turned the blocking of the shawl into a nightmare. But, after months using the shawl, I took the courage to rip the bind-off and re-do it, this time using a russian bin-off which turned out just as it should!

I re-blocked the shawl and it was just the way I wanted it to be. The problem is that with the use, it kind of shrinks horizontally and makes it look smaller than it actually is...

But I love it! And I use it as much as I can!

As soon as I saw this cowl, I decided right there and then to make one for myself.

I have to say that I have a crush of some sorts for this leafy motifs.
This is a motif that is very common to find in scandinavian and nordic patterns, which attracks me very much.

When the lovely Constança gifted me with two balls of new zealand wool, a very soft yarn, I thought I would make something special for myself.

After making the hat for my youngest son, I had some yarn left in one of the balls, that together withy the other ball enough to make this cowl.

It couldn't have resulted better, it was a great match, this yarn with this pattern.

With this pattern I learned a new skill , how to seam a picot edge, which is so much simpler than it appears.!

I used 4mm circular bamboo needles with 60 cm cable.

Until I gave it another try and got hooked!
Because after all I always loved having my feet really warm.
And how best in the world to get your feet warm other than a good pair of wool knitted socks? And even more, people say it is hygge!

Well, considering that I am a huge fan of the tv show Game of Thrones, as soon as I saw this sock pattern, I decided immediately to knit a pair for me!

Isto pareceu-me bastante acessível, enquanto máscara.

(I know we are almost at Easter.
I know that Carnival has passed almost a month an a half ago.)

I couldn't avoid showing here the costume I made for my oldest son, that I am really proud of.

When I was a little kid, I always longed for the Carnival to come. And I always thought that my mother, with all her skills for sewing, would make me a Carnival costume. But the fact is that my mother, which was so creative for so many things, wasn't very imaginative in designing Carnival costumes for me.

What always saved me from disappointment is the fact that until I was 10/11 years old I never got to participate in any costume parades, because I inevitably got sick. It seemed like a curse! There were even some years that I feared Carnaval because I already knew I would be sick in bed and the subsequent visit to the doctor.

So, I always said to myself that one day, when I became a mother, I would try to reverse that tendency and break the family "tradition" and would make my kids costumes for Carnival, within my skills.

And this year for the first time I got to put that into pratice. In my boy's school they decided that all the boys and girls would have to wear arab costume, as a way to honor our historic past of arabic occupation in our city.

It seemed quite accessible to me, as a costume. I started planning what I was going to do, and I have to admit that it took me longer to plan that to execute.
I made a turbant out of cotton cord (I had a bobin I got as a "heirdom" from my husband's aunts house) and I joined in a circle using yarn, in single crochet stitches.

Then I planned the costume itself. I thought that a simple tunic would do the trick, and use a little bit more of cord to make a belt. And also a fabric rectangle for the head cloth, kind of like the ones that Arabian Xeiqs use.
A coworker of mine got me an old cotton fabric bed sheet, those old ones quite thick (I almost felt sorry for putting the scissors in it...) and with that I cut the pattern pieces for the tunic, the sleeves and the head cloth.

Then I sewed the side seams of the tunic and set in my very first sleeves, and it couldn't have gone better!

The neckline wasn't so good, because I made it too big because I was afraid it wouldn't be enough for the head to pass, but I made a correction and it ended up being a decorative feature of the garment.

My son was so happy with his mother handmade costume!
And it even got me some praises from his school teacher...

(and no, I didn't make the clown costume. Sewing a clown costume was more than I can chew...

When I started feeling more confident in my knitting, I set out that I would make sweaters for my kids. I had planned on doing it last year, but I got involved in so many projects that it just wasn't possible.

But this year I thought that I just had to make it, it would have to be a priority. And when I made my Resolutions List for the annual KAL I entered, I took it in to consideration.

I didn't miss the Drops yarn promotion at the end of last year, in the alpaca yarns so I bought sweater's quantities enough for a garment for Filipe, another one for Ricardo and because I tend to forget about myself... I bought enough to make one for myself too.

It took me a little bit over a month to knit this sweater for Filipe, the whole month of January and a few more days of February to complete it. I work on it almost exclusively and I had a blast knitting it.

I chose the Flax Sweater, a free pattern on Ravelry, designed by Tin Can Knits, which has a detail on the top of the sleeves that makes it fun, and still simple and easy to execute.

I made the 8/10 years old size, because although Filipe is only 8 yo, he is already wearing the 10 yo size clothes, since he is very tall for his age.

I used a 65% wool and 35% alpaca blend yarn, Drops Lima, in the Navy Blue colorway and used circular 4mm needles.

I made no changes to the pattern and it fits perfectly!

A few months ago, I wanted to make some small gifts for my current blog partners, sometime around the Christmas Swap.
I wasn't really sure on what to make for them, I just decided that it had to be something simple and pretty and preferably that could be executed rapidly, since I didn't have much time available.

One day, by bedtime, Eureka (go figure why all my best ideas always come up at this hour of the day, or night... when the general idea is to shut down the brain in order to fall asleep) and I remembered that I had bought some small bags of beads with letters, with the purpose of making my own stitch markers with funny names related to knitting and crochet, of course.

I realized that I could easily make a necklace or bracelet with their personal blogs names or their brand, by using those beads.

All I had to buy was a leather thread and the locks for the necklace.

I used a tapestry needle to help pass the beads throughout the leather thread and use my precision pliers that I bought to make my stitch markers and are usually used for jewelry making.

So I went for it and made them and you can see them here and here.
At Christmas I decided to make some more treats to go with the small gifts I made for my two cousins.

This was an unexpected project that came up on my list last year.

A dear and long time friend, Túlia (miss you so much!) decided to enter this world of crafts something I would have never foresseen, which made me so happy! Another <strike>addicted</strike> one for the people that make things by hand!

She chose to embrace sewing, because she felt more comfortable. In her search for sources of inspiration, she came accross these crochet fingerless gloves,
and she fell completely in love with them. She shared with me that she would love to know how to make them and I told her that they were quite simple and easy to make... Of course it didn't take long for her to commission me to make them. And of course I could never say no to a request made by someone I love so dearly!

I tried to find a pattern to follow, but the ones I found didn't use granny square stitches. And much like I had told her, they were simple to make, so I took a good look at the multiple pictures I found available and began to crochet them somewhat guessing.

The funny thing was that it turned out even more simple that I had guessed and also it was great that Tulia and I have the same hand measurements. I tested them myself throughout the process , since we are 300 km apart.

The first attempt came out a little bit too big, so I frogged and reduced the number of stitches.

The yarn I used was a Zauberball 100 from Schoppel-Wolle, 100% merino wool, in black, grey and blue shades, Túlia's favourites (her style is somewhat goth!).

For this project I also had to learn how to do the crocodile stitch, which is quite simple, but I have to admit that I am not a big fan of it.

However, I have to confess that in this type of project it is quite interesting!

The ball of yarn, as it is being crochet is self striping, and since I didn't get to the middle of the ball to start on the second mitten, so they ended up being quite different in colors... but my friend Túlia likes them just like this, assymetrical!

She was so happy when I handed them over to her! They fit "like a glove"!

Finally the time has come to announce this Top Secret project!

I could hardly wait for this day to arrive!

And without further ado, let me introduce you to Simplifica.

This is a 3 elements projects, a joint project with Ana and Maria.

Because our lives are not limited to our imagination, criativity and crafts, because we are normal people, with real difficulties and problems, for which we try to find the simplest and better solutions.

So, if you want to know more about it, go on and check it out!

Once again (me, Maria, Ana and Paula) went on a Yarn Crawl, this time in Lisbon.

Another amazing day!

To talk, laugh, hangout and meet yarn and fabric stores. And of course, do some shopping for our projects.

For me, the day began quite early, leaving the house at the break of dawn with the first sun rays shining and ended by night, with the stars twinkling in the sky.

There were funny moments like finding a turist knitting at the train station in Tunes, while we waited for Alfa Pendular to arrive. I just didn't do the same because the socks I am working on have a charted lace motif and knitting and looking at the chart wasn't very practical...

There were pleasant surprises like meeting people I only "knew" from social media, like Dora, my "lucky victim" from Christmas Swap 2016 - Cenouras Tricot and ruuning into Anabela, who gave me the most joyful, loving and enthusiastic welcome!!

Like I told Sasha, people in the knitting and sewing community are all people of the "Good"!

1 - Flax by TinCanKnits
2 - Cranford Mittens by Jane Litghow
3 - Crenate Socks by Rachel Coopey
4 - Pixelated Pullover by Jennifer Beaumont
5 - Leaving Cowl by Maria Magnusson
6 - Edie by Isabel Kraemer
7 - Rosamund Top by Katya Frankel
8 - Picacho Peak by Alyssa Latuchie
9 - Silver Leaf by Hannah Fettig
10 - Timeless Henley by Joji Locatelli
11 - Minetta by Kirsten Kapur
12 - Kirsebærblomstring / Cherry Bloom / Kirschblüte by Lene Tøsti

Last December, when Lilli announced on her podcast Nordic Stitches that she would be hosting a year long KAL, with the purpose of making a 12
projects list of the things we wanted to knit in the new year of 2017, I decided to join in!

I have to admit that making this list wasn't easy!

I have a gigantic Ravelry queue and choosing only 12 projects... I had to think things throughout!

But I managed to get down to 12 projects I will be making in 2017:

1 - Flax by TinCanKnits
2 - Cranford Mittens by Jane Litghow
3 - Crenate Socks by Rachel Coopey
4 - Pixelated Pullover by Jennifer Beaumont
5 - Leaving Cowl by Maria Magnusson
6 - Edie by Isabel Kraemer
7 - Rosamund Top by Katya Frankel
8 - Picacho Peak by Alyssa Latuchie
9 - Silver Leaf by Hannah Fettig
10 - Timeless Henley by Joji Locatelli
11 - Minetta by Kirsten Kapur
12 - Kirsebærblomstring / Cherry Bloom / Kirschblüte by Lene Tøsti

I already made the no. 1 and no. 5 from this list.

I have been finding this list very useful, because it has helped me concentrate on what I really want to make, it allows me to plan better the yarn buying for the neccessary amounts and types and has given me tremendous focus!

When I finish the month's project and if I still have time left, I pick up one of my WIP's and try (I really try...) not to cast on another new project.

Another decision I made when I made this list was to finish those projects that have been in my needles for too long and that ended being forgotten. I have to give them some love and attention and get them through to completion!

Also, I decided to try and make the most number of projects from my stash. This doesn't mean that I will be on a "yarn diet",
I will still buy the yarn that might be neccesary for projects in case I don't have the right type of yarn or if I don't have enough yardage. But the genereal idea is to use up mainly from what I have in stash and not go about buying more yarn.

Usei as minhas agulhas Knit Pro Royale e gostei bastante.

I had decided a long while ago that I wanted to knit garments for my kids.
When I saw this pattern for a sleevless pullover,
I figured it would be the right garment to knit for my youngest son, it didn't imply too much work and I had enough yarn in my stash to make it.

I used the skein that I got from my partner, in the international swap organized by Mina, from the Knitting Expat Podcast.

The yarn is super soft, somewhat thick, a blend of Cormo wool and silk, but it had the thickness specified in the pattern, and after I swatched, I was almost spot on on gauge.

I used almost the all skein and a half, which was I had received in the swap.
It was a very speedy project to execute, I loved knitting it, the instructions in the pattern were simple and clear and I particularly liked the slipped stitches waistband. I think it gives the garment a beautiful finish without getting too complicated.

The only thing I didn't do as the pattern instructed was the i-cord bind-off. I chose to make a crochet edging all around and I think it is just as beautiful.

I used my Knit Pro Royale
needles and I enjoyed it very much. I have to admit that this project flew by really fast because I used these needles, that are somewhat heavy, but I really like it.

To add an extra touch, I sewed in a button I took from the button box I brought from my husband's aunt collection (she was a professional sewer). There are some really nice treasures there.

My son is so cute in this pullover. It seems just like a tiny little man.

As minhas primas adoraram! Principalmente porque foi feito à mão!
When I finished the decorated woven basket, I kept thinking that that would be my cousin's birthday present, but we were almost at Christmas time...

Considering that in my family we established a rule that stated that we would only spend money on presents for the kids, I wasn't exactly going to buy something to gift my cousin at Christmas. But I also didn't really feel like showing up at Christmas Eve's dinner empty-handed.

That's when I decided that I would make something for her and her mother, my cousin Lili, with materials I already had with me. Because that way, I still wouldn't spend money, which was the purpose of the family rule not to buy presents for adults.

For days I tried to figure out what to do, and not getting anywhere near a conclusion. And then, one afternoon, 3 days before Christmas Eve dinner, I just thought that a lunch mat would go really well with the decorated basket, adding to the fact that both my cousins are fond of taking lunch from home and eat in their workplace on a regular basis.

After choosing what to do, it wasn't hard to get to the final concept of the thing, choose measurements, materials and fabrics.

And then I remembered a table towel from Val,
where she resused some old jeans' backpockets to put the fork and knife and the napkin and of course, I shamessly copied the idea! And also because I had been recently decluttering my closet (I had been reading a little bit about Wardrobe Architect and Capsule
Wardrobe, but I will talk about that in a future post...) so I had some old jeans that no longer fit me, that I didn't donate/throw away to resuse as I wished.

So, just like that, in less than one afternoon I cut out the fabrics with the measurements I had decided on, unpicked the seams of the backpockets of my old jeans and sat down at my sewing machine to assemble everything toghether.

I also put a button hole made of elastic band, so it could be rolled up and more portable.
