Costurar para decorar / Sew to decorate

When I idealized the rearranging of my hall, one of the things I decided was that I would use the two single modules as a stool, where we could sit down and put on or off our shoes.

It took me a while to make the missing piece: a pillow!

I had the fabric in stash, a piece of fabric that I had left after making a babysling for a dear friend, using the same pattern as this one

Like in almost everything I make sewing-wise, as soon as I put my mind to it I don't rest until I get to it, so I took 1 hour I had available while my two little devils where busy playing around, to cut the fabric.

The sewing part happened the next day at, late at night, while they were both sound asleep.

The choice of fabric couldn't have worked better!
I think it gives a little bit of elegance to the space, which was kind of poor and uninteristing... and also has a light look, from the floral print.

Then all I had to do was to fill it with cotton pillow filling (I think I bought it at a Leroy Merlin store...) and close the opening by hand with an invisible stitch.

Now that I think of it, I believe that this hand sewn stitch was one of the first things I learned with my mother when I was just a little girl. It's amazing what lies in our memory and we didn't even know it.
